Green light for £250m London riverside housing scheme

The planned 500,000 sq ft development located near Wandsworth Bridge will accommodate 242 apartments spread over 12 floors with a central landscaped garden as well as 35,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space.

The 2.5 acre site in the vicinity of the renowned Hurlingham Park and Harbour Club is one of the last large regeneration sites along the Thames that are located in the central zone of the city.

According to current plans, the scheme will be built in four phases, with the initial stage of demolition works, which are scheduled to start in early 2015. The construction of the development is set to start around 2015/2016.

Under the current deal, CBRE is development manager and project manager with WSP acting as main consultant and Waterman as M&E consultant.

The scheme is designed by the award-winning architect, Hopkins with Tom Stuart-Smith Landscape Design responsible for the landscape design.

David Barnett, CEO of Londonewcastle, said: “This is a significant scheme and gives us the opportunity to create a new destination riverside address which will feature a spectacular elevated resident’s garden at its centre and improved public spaces and retail amenities along the revitalised riverside walk.”
