Corporate Galliford Try wins Reading office project

 

The housebuilding and construction firm, Galliford Try plc, issued a statement that its Building business has been selected to manage the construction of the Forbury Place project in Reading by client M&G Real Estate and Bell Hammer under a contract of £38m.

 

According to the deal, Galliford will build 185,000 square foot of Category A office space in the first of two new office complexes to be erected on the site of the former Energis House in the town. The eight storey structure will provide additional 450 parking spaces for both facilities and is expected to achieve BREEAM Excellent rating upon completion.

 

The project architect is Aukett Fitzroy Robinson and the team also includes URS, Sweett, Total Project Integration and AKS Ward.

 

Galliford Try Chief Executive Greg Fitzgerald said: “This successful contract win further cements our position as a leading contractor within the office sector in the South East and we look forward to working with our partners at M&G Real Estate and Bell Hammer to provide a landmark new building for business in Reading.”
