The Role: 


Our UK&I Energy Practice is looking for a top class Technical Director to cover the “New Energy” sector. The purpose of the role is to enhance, coordinate and grow our activities in emerging areas of the energy market, particularly around the decarbonisation and diversification of the oil and gas sector and the emergence of alternative fuels. This will involve interacting with multiple existing teams and will enable growth of the company's portfolio of existing and new clients within the sector including BP, Shell, ENEL, MASDAR, National Grid, Cadent and similar others. 


You are going to have a sound understanding of client needs in this sector and a strong technical understanding in the areas of gas delivery and alternative fuels. You will be proactive in your approach to work and will manage teams and monitor workload. You will report directly to the Practice Director for Renewables and Energy Transitions and work closely with unit’s Business Development and Transmission and Distribution Directors. You will also be expected to contribute to the development of strategy, and lead on tender and bid submissions in the “New Energy” sector. 

Supports, oversees and coordinates engineering production activities for an operating unit. 

Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative. 

Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues. At this level, the individual will have demonstrated understanding of project delivery requirements, creativity, foresight, working with a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and deliver high quality technical excellence. 

Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual operations problems, determining operational objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. 

Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. 


Minimum Requirements 


Further responsibilities include: 

Actively develop and promote the industry profile of the company in this sector. 

Close support to our BD team in proposals and bids. 

Lead input to team and client meetings, being prepared to own decisions and put forward alternative ideas and concepts. 

Project Director on key strategic projects with core clients, to maintain relationships and keep an understanding of project delivery 


Preferred Qualifications 

A undergraduate degree in a relevant science or engineering based subject.
