Shift Engineer ( Tunnels)

Our client is a major tier 1 main contractor that works in the water and civils markets across the UK, due to recent project wins they now have several fantastic opportunities and are recruiting for a Shift Engineer (Tunnels) located in London. The salary is £35,000 - £43,000  

Job Description:  

As the Secondary Lining Engineer, you will be responsible to the Section Engineer for the execution of your individual responsibilities. You shall:  

- Work as the Secondary Lining Engineer supervising the Tunnel Secondary lining shift work – this will be a cast in-situ concrete lining cast behind a drum shutter.  

- Manage and ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) issues on site.  

- Manage and control the works according to approved RAMS and ITP’s ensuring relevant QAQC records are taken and processed.  

- Working on an 12hr shift pattern 5 days per week (Days, Nights) & cover Saturday work where required.

- Familiarity with Civil Engineering methods of construction  

- Understanding of surveying methods and ability to assist the Survey team if required.  

- Ability to undertake survey work using the site control where required  

- Good attendance and timekeeping essential  

- Able to work collaboratively within a team to achieve deadlines  

- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the site team  

- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture on the project  

- Positive attitude  

- Degree or equivalent level qualification in Civil engineering, Mining or Tunnelling  

- SSSTS/SMSTS card  

- CSCS Card  

- TSTS and 6151 Training for underground access (training can be provided at site)  

- Working towards membership of a professional body (preferred)
