Job Title : Senior Process Engineer (Water)

Location: Manchester

Salary : £40,000 - £50,000

Responsibilities:

Role Dimensions

A Senior Process Engineer is an experienced process engineer capable of performing complex technical work on major projects with limited supervision. The role reports to the Chief Process Engineer (Water).

Duties

• To undertake outline or detailed process engineering design

• To prepare or check project calculations and deliverables

• To work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary project delivery team and to ensure integration of Process Engineering design requirements into the overall engineering design

• To work to the project programme for activities/deliverables and understanding interdependencies

• To support site based commissioning support where assigned

• To attend site visits for data acquisition and meeting site operators

• To provide technical input to the procurement process

• To participate in regular team meetings and reviews and help to develop our capability

• To contribute to technical/safety reviews

• To offer advice and support to colleagues and subordinates on development needs taking into account work activities, learning ability and circumstances and provide training as required on company workflow, methods and business systems

• To ensure personal compliance with current company policy, relevant legislation and company and client’s requirements for Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental matters and work in such a manner not to cause personal harm or injury to fellow workers, client and subcontractor employees or the environment

• To support the company performance management process by assisting colleagues and subordinates in achieving their objectives and providing feedback on team member performance to their line managers

The role may require travel to company, supplier or client offices or sites for business purposes

Qualifications:

Your Qualifications & Experience

• A degree qualification in a process engineering related discipline is essential

• Chartered Engineer preferred and member of a relevant engineering institution

• The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the municipal water sector

• A background in an engineering consultancy or contracting design environment

• Good knowledge and experience in the design, operation and optimization of wastewater treatment plants is essential

• Knowledge and experience in water treatment and biosolids recycling plants would be beneficial

• A sound appreciation of regulation and compliance principles in wastewater treatment would be beneficial

Role Competencies

• A good knowledge and ability in using process tools and software (including Excel)

• An ability to communicate technical subjects clearly and concisely verbally and in writing

• Must be delivery driven with a mind-set to work to targets and meet team objectives

• Innovative and demonstrable ability to add value

• An understanding of technical risk and opportunity

• Flexible and agile to respond to changing customer and business needs
