Job Title: Senior Process Engineer (Wastewater)

Location: Manchester (home base while COVID restrictions are in place)

Salary : £45,000 - £50,000

Overview:

Our client is recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer with good knowledge and experience in the design of wastewater treatment facilities to undertake design work for their framework clients. The role is for their engineering design hub in South Manchester. While this is an office based role, their designers are currently working from home due to our clients Covid-19 restrictions. When these restrictions eventually ease, they expect the role would return to being primarily office based with some flexibility in working arrangements. This role will require some travel to our clients and sites.

Role Dimensions

A Senior Process Engineer is an experienced process engineer, who has good knowledge and adequate practical experience to consistently perform the required task(s) in a range of complex and non-routine contexts; supervision is only required in more complex circumstances. The role reports to the Chief Process Engineer (Water).

Functional/Technical

Legislation, Codes & Standards

Can identify and understand legislation, codes and standards applicable to their work.

Process Design

Can generate and apply the Process Design Basis and Scope of Work to their work.

Can generate, understand and apply the Plant Operating and Design Envelope to their work.

Can identify and select appropriate process technologies.

Can generate and apply design philosophy and requirements for Process Control.

Can identify Materials of Construction in accordance with company standards.

Can size and specify Process and Utility Equipment.

Can generate and apply Process Design Philosophies in their work.

Can generate and develop PFD's for Process and Utility systems.

Can generate and develop P&ID's for Process and Utility systems.

Process Safety

Understands the principals of Hazard Studies (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP) and can apply the methodology.

Be aware of the principles of SIL Assessment and application of the methodology.

Detailed Engineering

Process Input to MEICA Design

Requirements

Role Overview

To undertake outline or detailed process engineering design

To prepare or check project calculations and deliverables

To work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary project delivery team and to ensure integration of Process Engineering design requirements into the overall engineering design

To work to the project programme for activities/deliverables and understanding interdependencies

To support site based commissioning support where assigned

To attend site visits for data acquisition and meeting site operators

To provide technical input to the procurement process

To participate in regular team meetings and reviews and help to develop our capability

To contribute to technical/safety reviews
