My client is a company that works in the Environment sector and they are currently looking for Senior/Principal Heritage Consultant for their locations across the UK.  

 

Job Description:  

 

My client is looking to appoint a Senior/Principal Heritage Consultant to work from their new regional office in Sheffield and to assist in the development of their offering. You will be joining an expanding and diverse business, with exciting and ambitious plans for growth. The role would suit a pragmatic and forward-thinking individual, looking to develop their career and to step into the next level of seni Group, you will be working alongside the Group’s ecological, planning, architectural and construction teams, on a wide array of exciting schemes regionally and nationally.  

 

As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to advise and lead on a variety of heritage related schemes, managing projects across multiple sectors and industries. You will provide high quality consultancy advice to a multitude of stakeholders and clients, produce heritage based reports, and develop and lead the Sheffield based heritage team. You will prepare fee proposals and explore new business opportunities, as well as providing technical assurance and mentoring staff.  

 

The Individual  

 

The postholder will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, but conversely be a strong team player and an able communicator. Applicants should have experience of delivering a broad range of archaeological and heritage assessments and be familiar with the EIA process, preferably having authored Environmental Statement chapters for heritage, as well as having experience in managing multiple projects. The postholder will ideally have, or be working towards, CIfA and/or IHBC accreditation.

Requirements

- A degree in a heritage and/or archaeology related subject  

- Understanding of the guidance, planning, and legislative frameworks in the United Kingdom that apply to management of the cultural heritage resource  

- Experience in the production of a wide variety of heritage documentation, including Desk-Based Assessments, Heritage Statements and chapters for Environmental Statements  

- Excellent organisational skills  

- H&S awareness  

- Knowledge of archaeological and/or built heritage investigation and mitigation techniques  

- Willingness and aptitude to train and mentor others  

- Full driving licence  

 

Desirable:  

- A post-graduate qualification in an appropriate subject  

- Membership of a relevant organisation e.g. MCIfA, IHBC etc.  

- Experience of working with GIS packages and of creating or commissioning technical illustrations  

- Experience of mitigation design  

- CSCS Card  

- Experience of supervising small teams
