Main Purpose of the Job

My client is a leading engineering consultancy and they are looking for a Senior Geoenvironmental Scientist to join their team of geo-specialists in the South West. Duties will include general geoenvironmental consultancy activities, A primary interest in the land quality, contamination assessment and waste management field is required, although the team offers integrated geotechnical and geoenvironmental services so some capability and interest in engineering geology and general ground investigation practice is valuable.

The role would be largely office-based in the South West but would require some travelling within the UK and occasional short duration stays away. Much of the office geoenvironmental project work derives from London area and the Midlands, so some travelling can be expected. It may be possible to carry out the role part-based in the Midlands.

Main Duties and Responsibilities;

Duties will include general land development-related work, for example ground investigation scheduling and overseeing, Phase 1 and Phase 2 assessments, remedial strategy reports, verification work, due diligence reporting and Part 2A studies. Familiarity with geochemical data assessment and contaminated land statistical methods is essential.
