Job description

Our client is a tier 1 main contractor working across several key water frameworks and they are recruiting for a Senior General Foreman (Non-Infra) to join their Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Framework, based in the Central of the Anglian Region (near Peterborough) within the Non-Infra team.  

Infrastructure is defined as the below ground assets (the pipeline) the above ground assets are the Non-Infrastructure (Non-Infra) is the Pumping Stations and other remote kiosks  

As the new Senior General Foreman (Non-Infra), you’ll deliver multi-discipled work aligned with SPA strategies in logistics, production design, assembly, SHEQ, reporting and digital creation.  

Operating with the customer at heart, you’ll understand the Client and Alliance Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and Statutory Requirements as they affect operations and ensure that the obligations, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project  

 

Key Responsibilities  

- Work with the Construction Manager and Site Agent to deliver the scheme  

- Successfully install Civils works, Pumping station building and the MIECA equipment including large diameter pipes compact asset boundaries  

- Manage and coordinate site activities in line with the programme  

- Review daily outputs achieved and report to the Construction Manager  

- Ensure only adequately trained and experienced operatives are engaged on site to deliver the works  

- Deliver site inductions and regular toolbox talk briefings to the site team covering appropriate Health, Safety and Environmental issues and ensure records of these briefings are maintained  

- Plan and assist PM in determining best avenue of works, advising on specialist strengths and concerns

Requirements

- Recognised Civil/Mechanical Engineering experience  

- Clean water experience (Desirable)  

- Understanding of Engineering Principles  

- Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices  

- Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (IOSH for example)  

- Experience of managing complex interfaces on compact sites  

- MEICA experience  

- Experience of installing large diameter pipes in restricted working areas  

- HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (Desirable)  

- Vocational Training (successful experience of project supervision) (Desirable)
