Job description

My client is a major environmental consultancy with a strong presence across the UK and they are currently looking for Senior Ecology Directors for locations across the UK. There are opportunities for Senior Directors in their Ecology Division – South East, Midlands and North.

This is an exciting time for my client and the industry and they are committed to playing an active role in this and making a positive impact over the next 5 years. Unsurprisingly, they have ambitious plans to build on their successes to date and to achieve more, and for this to succeed they need to ensure they have the right individuals in the right roles.

Our client is now looking to further expand and strengthen their presence in the UK. You will have a high degree of autonomy over shaping and growing local teams, pursuing appropriate opportunities, improving processes, driving innovation and developing new initiatives. As a senior team member, you will play a wider role in mentoring and developing the ecology team across the division and provide direct support to the divisional directors. In addition, you will take ownership of some of their key client accounts/frameworks and contribute to and support the development of the other teams and service propositions in these region, including the growth of the Arboriculture team.

On a day to day basis you will act as project manager/director of major infrastructure and residential development projects (including HS2). Over time, as they invest in new services such as Environmental Net Gain and Natural Capital, there will be opportunities for you to develop /apply your skills in these areas and to work across different divisions and business units on a range of projects.

Requirements

As part of the Senior Team, you will play a crucial role in realising their ambitions. You are a talented professional with a broad and deep wealth of expertise, but just as importantly you bring the right aptitude and approach, having the potential as both a disruptor and a collaborator and someone who will thrive in their community of innovators and problem-solvers, where they collectively leverage their ingenuity, experience, passion and technology to build trust with clients and deliver sustainable legacies.

You will have proven experience as a senior director of ecology. You are likely to have extensive experience working in consultancy and be looking to join a large and successful SME where you can directly influence change, and control the direction and performance of the business, and share in its success.

They particularly welcome applicants from those who are significantly underrepresented in their sector, such as women, disabled people and individuals from Black and Minority ethnic communities.
