Job Title : Operations Manager ( Wastewater Infrastructure)

Location : Surrey

Salary : Circa£65k plus car allowance and benefits

Our client are looking to strengthen their Regional team with an Operations Manager. You will Control the resources and all financial aspects of a programme of works to ensure continued improvement to targets set for turnover, gross margin and cash. Assist in identifying and obtaining suitable orders and maintaining relationships with clients, partners and suppliers/subcontractors You will report directly to the Regional Director and duties /responsibilities of the role will include;

•Promote exceptional safety and delivery quality standards to direct and subcontracted work force

•Develop and implement a strategy for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the programme and projects.

•Develop and maintain a consistent mode of operation within the programme.

•Ensure sufficient resources of a suitable calibre are available to meet the projects` requirements.

•Monitor the contract performance, in particular that costs are controlled and forecast accurately.

•Assist in implementing the Regional Director`s strategy.

•Provide input into tender finalisation.

•Establish and maintain good relationships with clients and their representatives.

•Establish and maintain good relationships with JV partners and key subcontractors and suppliers.

•Ensure monthly and quarterly financial reports are produced and reviewed on time.

•Prepare management reports.

•Ensure payment applications are made on time and maximised.

•Ensure regional turnover targets are met.

•Input to the development of Company procedures

•Ensure that the Company quality procedures are fully implemented on all projects.

•Ensure that the required quality records are maintained

•Ensuring that all site non-conformities are reported and approximate costs identified

•Ensure all commercial aspects of the project are managed in a timely and proactive way giving accurate forecast and estimates

•Understanding and implementing the Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and Targets

•Have detailed working knowledge and experience of project management practices from scheme conception through to end user acceptance

•Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.

•Maintain a positive and solution oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.

•Undertake such other duties, training and /or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role

•In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department as well as maintaining mutually constructive, positive and beneficial relationships.

•Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality

Requirements

•Able to work within strict deadlines.

•Experience in managing multi-disciplinary design and construction schemes.

•Experience and knowledge of the Water Industry processes.

•Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction related discipline.

•Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to work in close partnership with clients and end users.

•Must be delivery driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives.

•Extensive experience in large scale project delivery

•Strategic, operational, technical and management skills

Desirable

•Experience in water treatment plants

•Experience in using Primavera or Power project.

•Chartered or near chartered in a construction discipline
