Job description

Our client who works in the water industry is currently recruiting for Mechanical Site Managers on a freelance basis (outside IR35) from a water / wastewater background for their numerous ongoing projects across the UK.  

You will be reporting directly to the MEICA /Manager and accountable to Whole Life Project Manager.  

The fundamental requirement of this role is to have a track record of successfully managing the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) aspects of a complex Wastewater process project.  

 

Responsibilities include:  

• To liaise with design and delivery partners to ensure that the best MEICA solutions are selected and implemented for the project  

• Ensure technical input and expertise is best utilised  

• Responsible for the production of MEICA and commissioning RAMS  

• Building and maintaining relationships with wholesale operations  

• Liaison with the STW management team within both Asset Creation and Service Delivery  

• Active participation in the Clients COMM Cells  

• Knowledge and experience of the MEICA engineering commensurate with the project scope  

• Knowledge and experience of Severn Trent Water M&E standards and WIMES  

• Participation in the production of MEICA Tender documents, ensuring intelligent battery limits are set and that there are definitions of project success and/or completion.  

• Ensure to drive the off-site, build manufacture and off-site commissioning of packages and equipment where possible  

• Ensuring MEICA procurement is progressed in line with the project schedule whilst ensuring adequate oversight to protect Costain’s commercial position.  

• Participation in collaborative planning sessions to ensure MEICA elements of work are well coordinated with other interfaces to maintain the programme.  

• Identification and implementation of programme efficiencies  

• Ensuring all MEICA materials required are ordered in sufficient time for installation  

• Creating RAMS for MEICA self delivery work  

• Checking RAMS for MEICA subcontract elements of work  

• Supervising MEICA work on site  

• Ensuring completion of ITPs for MEICA work

Requirements

• SMSTS  

• Relevant Water experience  

• Medium risk confined space entry (desirable)  

• First Aid  

• CSCS
