The Regional Manager will provide central management and support to the regional team across the business; prioritising strategy and governance to achieve compliance and consistency. This is a strategic and technically orientated position.
The Regional Manager will be responsible for a team of technical engineering staff focusing on delivering Telemetry / RTU & Regional SCADA and ME&I related services to fulfil our obligations supporting an existing client base as well as nurturing new opportunities as required.
The Regional Manager should demonstrate excellent commercial aptitude in playing a pivotal role in delivering specialist projects and frameworks (mainly within the UK Water Industry) with individual values ranging from c£1K to c£1m and must have a committed and flexible ‘can do’ attitude ensuring successful delivery of a variety of Electrical / Instrumentation / Controls / SCADA / Telemetry (with some minor mechanical / civils) related schemes.
He/she will be responsible for overseeing the complete project and programme management of multiple projects across the client portfolio, guiding the Project Managers and assisting in the commercial aspects of each project.
The position demands a technically experienced professional who can demonstrate excellent core IT skills, a knowledge and background in the field of Water Industry, ME&I, Telemetry services and SCADA Integration, the ability to plan / manage and execute logistical planning duties, as well as possessing the desire to progress and develop the skills required to nurture and grow the department and its staff.
This role will require the ability to effectively liaise with internal staff and external clients / contractors / suppliers in a polite, professional, and courteous manner. The role will also require regular interface with senior Managers and Directors to facilitate operational updates and commercial reporting, etc.
The role may also require some travel for site surveys, site visits, meetings, and client interface, etc.
Typical (non-exhaustive) duties may include:
Full responsibility for the contractual obligations and Profit & Loss
Rebuilding and restructuring of the Regional department
Providing guidance and supervision to the project managers
Provide a high level of technical expertise and support the Telemetry, Scada and ME&I staff to ensure their skills and competence levels continually improve and to identify training needs.
Overseeing the planning of resource availability, and skills requirements liaising with internal staff to secure multi-disciplined internal labour
Initial project feasibility, survey, project scoping, estimation, design, etc
Managing all project-related correspondence, schedules, plans, deliverables and documentation
Commercial reporting and invoicing
Assigning and reviewing work priorities
Regular meetings with the Project Managers to ensure project visibility and progress
Providing regular feedback on operational issues / concerns to stakeholders and senior managers
Monitoring project budgets and assisting with data for commercial invoicing
Monitoring project performance and departmental cost analysis
Ensuring that all Health & Safety processes and procedures are followed
Improve efficiency within the department
Ensure department KPI’s are met
Project contract negotiation assistance as required
Staff line management to include recruitment, training, reviews and disciplinaries, etc
Adjusting projects priorities and milestones based upon the customer’s changing needs
Liaising with internal departments to secure multi-disciplined labour (as may be required)
Regular liaison and account management with client representatives
Providing regular feedback / reporting on operational issues / commercial performance to senior management
Reviewing resource availability and future skills requirements
Ensuring that all company processes and procedures are followed
