Job Title : MEICA Commissioning Engineer - WATER
Salary : £40,000 - £50,000
About the Role
The role is for a commissioning engineer to be part of the team and coordinate the testing and commissioning of the permanent works for CVB in the East section of the Tideway Tunnel.
The successful candidate will work within the Contractor’s MEICA and Commissioning team, reporting to the MEICA/Commissioning Project Manager, and will work alongside the many other disciplines and stakeholders that make up the Tideway Tunnel project delivery team.
The project offices and worksites are in East London. Although much of the work is site based, there is some flexibility with respect to working from home for this role when site works do not require attendance.Attendance to UK manufacturing facilities for factory inspection and acceptance testing may at times be necessary.
Supporting the MEICA/Commissioning Project Manager in the production of commissioning strategies for the safe and effective delivery of the testing and commissioning works
Producing testing and commissioning plans, procedures, safe systems of work and test sheets
Working with the project management and planning teams to produce and update the testing and commissioning activities within the contract programme
Coordinating and scheduling inspection, testing and commissioning works across multiple Worksites, interfacing with multiple stakeholders
Coordinating the development of temporary works and carrying out the procurement of temporary equipment required for MEICA testing and commissioning the works
Ensuring tests are set up and carried out effectively and to plan, with best practice readiness to achieve right first time
Collaborating with, and organising, engineers and the supply chain to ensure testing and commissioning is carried out in a planned and timely manner
Supporting the quality and certification engineers to ensure commissioning records are completed and submitted for Acceptance
Witnessing inspection, testing and commissioning activities, and carrying out testing and commissioning activities directly where appropriate
An experienced commissioning engineer with a proven track record in coordinating and managing commissioning works, with experience of working on large or multiple site projects, preferably within the Water Industry
Someone capable of planning and coordinating the delivery of MEICA testing and commissioning works, and that can show leadership in maintaining high standards of safety and quality in the delivery of those works
Someone who can operate effectively as part of a large project delivery team, while being proactive and collaborative in interfacing with multiple stakeholders and disciplines, and across multiple worksites
Experience in producing high quality testing and commissioning documentation in a high governance environment
Someone who is well organised and comfortable engaging with clients and end users and has good communication skills
Someone with competences and experience of working to construction health and safety management regulations, and who will ensure compliance with electrical and mechanical safety rules are maintained throughout the testing and commissioning works
Good MEICA engineering and technical skills, the scope of works would particularly suit a candidate with a rounded background in instrumentation, control and automation (ICA)
Some experience in temporary works development for testing and commissioning would be of value
Experience of working within a BIM environment, using design management platforms and coordinated 3D models would be useful, or a willingness and eagerness to learn and implement industry leading practices in BIM and computer aided methods
