Flood Risk Assessor/Hydrologist
My client is a leading environmental and engineering consultancy and are looking to recruit for a Flood Risk Assessor/Hydrologist for their offices in the Greater London area
To support and strengthen the company's Land & Development Engineering Ltd (LDE) in hydrology including undertaking Flood Risk Assessments, concept and detail drainage designs, Environmental Impact Assessment chapters on hydrology and sustainable engineering solutions to provide water quality improvements.
To support with the production of tenders and technical report documents.
To support with incoming enquiries, tenders, details and projects in accordance with LDE QA procedures.
Maintain and develop technical capability through Continuing Professional Development (CPD), including mentoring and guiding junior staff.
Project management and financial management of costs on hydrology projects to ensure projects are managed on time and within agreed fee budgets.
Key Skills and Role Requirements:
Minimum of undergraduate degree in relevant subject (Geography, Environmental Science, Geology or similar) required.
Higher degree (hydrology, water management, flood risk management or similar) preferred but not essential.
Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively.
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
Ability to communicate effectively with the design team and external clients, both verbally and in writing.
Full UK driving licence.
Experienced in use of:
Microsoft products including Excel, Word and Power Point.
FEH, WINFAP FEH, Flood Modeller and other flood modelling software.
AutoCAD and MicroDrainage.
Awareness of ground modelling software such as PDS.
