Job Title: Clean Water Design Engineer
Location: Bath
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
The role will see you work within a small, dedicated team, assisting in all technical elements of the design activities being undertaken by the multi-disciplinary project delivery team, which will comprise in-house designers, external consultants and technical specialists, contractors and representatives of WW Operations.
In this role, you can expect to:
support the Principal Engineer in identifying solutions and developing the designs required
ensure the proposed design solutions are sustainable and can be delivered safely and cost-effectively to provide the company with the right solution for the best value, especially on a whole life cost basis
contribute to the review and audit of technical reports, appraisals, designs and drawings to ensure they comply with Wessex Water health and safety and technical standards, while meeting legal and environmental obligations
assist in the organisation of workshops and regular design meetings to review design proposals and progress, considering issues such as buildability, commissioning, HAZOPs, Control Philosophy and URS reviews
What are the requirements?
To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll ideally be a chartered engineer (MICE or a similar professional institution) or working towards chartership. You will also have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a design environment, specifically in the design of water treatment and supply schemes.
The focus will primarily be on feasibility but may also encompass elements of detailed design where appropriate. You’ll be an effective communicator at all levels of the business and will have excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all your work.
