The role of Carbon Manager (Infrastructure) drives environmental efficiencies and management to support the company's UK Carbon target of Carbon Neutral by 2045, within the infrastructure sector, and to support the Head of Environment (Infrastructure) in reaching this goal.
The Carbon Manager is the Internal expert on carbon measurement, reduction optioneering and reporting and will support the Infrastructure Leadership and Project Teams in the sector and project specific carbon planning and reduction activities, as well as support the company's Low Carbon Leadership externally within Industry groups and forums
Assessing the potential opportunities in the strategic project pipeline, from a carbon perspective, helping the Leadership Team to decide which we should pursue, alongside the suitability of: Revenue, Gross Margin, customer, sector, geography and appropriate resource availability).
Including Carbon within the quarterly financial forecasting process across the BU, alongside profile revenue, GM and resources.
Create bid stage carbon budgets and opportunities registers and manage delivery mechanisms for low carbon infrastructure in early bid work and design.
Develop detailed project level carbon budgets and opportunities registers (ranked), and tracked through delivery, with clear measurable outcomes.
Preconstruction pipeline to project potential carbon impacts of current and strategic pipeline of future works
Liaison with the wider business functions to integrate carbon measurement and reporting into business systems including commercial, design, digital engineering, estimating, procurement and engineering services
Provide detailed input to the infrastructure 5D+ strategy including the development of an Infrastructure Carbon Resource Library, that could be aligned with emerging industry data sets and standards
PAS2080 Ownership of certification, recertification and project processes and integration with Management Systems
Create and maintain a library repository of low carbon plant and materials alternatives linked to carbon and cost benefits
Skills & experience required:
Strong Data management and scrutiny skills
Understanding of Infrastructure sectors method of Measurements and Carbon
Experience of Infrastructure Design and Engineering processes, and how this links to low carbon outcomes
Able to influence change in functions and projects
