CAD Design Engineer

As a CAD Design Engineer, you will work with both pre-contract and post-contract teams to produce a  

wide range of drawings from simple block flow diagrams to complex 3D models of a complete treatment  

plant.  

Pre-Contract Responsibilities  

· Create preliminary P&IDs  

· Create preliminary general arrangements (2D)  

· Work with proposals team to advise hours for CAD resources on tenders  

Post-Contract Responsibilities  

· Create detailed P&IDs  

· Create detailed general arrangements (3D)  

· Create detailed design drawings for tanks, skid assemblies, pipework and supports  

· Create pipework and cable routing drawings  

· Review supplier/sub-contractor drawings and incorporate into 2D or 3D drawings  

· Create electrical schematics and single line diagrams  

· Carry out occasional site surveys, if required (e.g. as-built drawings)  

· Carry out clash detections on general arrangements and resolve any issues highlighted  

· Ensure productivity, meet deadlines, keep track of files, and implement standards

Skills & Experience  

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience within similar roles in the water or wastewater treatment industry  

would be advantageous  

· Proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT for production of 2D drawings  

· Proficient in Autodesk Inventor for production of 3D models  

· Excellent technical communication skills with engineers and fabrication personnel  

· Strong attention to detail  

· Ability to work within strict deadlines
