Our public sector client is looking for a Senior Project Engineer – Signalling for a 12 months Doncaster based contract at £550pd inside IR35.

The Project Engineer provides support or leadership in the development of the technical solution to meet the customer capability needs. They ensure that the solution is successfully integrated into the current enterprise whilst managing and minimising negative impacts. They seek to apply engineering best practice and ensure that all stakeholders are effectively managed throughout the engineering activities. They involve specialists as required and actively consider performance, safety and quality implications before making decisions
Required to work on large schemes – signalling based projects – designated project engineer duties. Contacted for any civil duties – track newels. Involvement in investigations and improving processes.
Work towards the Responsible Signal Engineer and Designated Project Engineer.
The Signalling Engineer support the development of all the policy, methods and support tools to facilitate rapid, effective and compliant signalling development engineering from GRIP stages 1 to 4. They will support the development and delivery of new processes, including methods and tools in order to improve business planning of the signalling renewals workload and realisation of benefits. They will support the development and delivery of new processes, including methods and tool to bring about rapid, effective and compliant signalling engineering including development, design and testing. They will support the analysis of the design, development or testing process, and research and development of new products. The role is required to cover Signalling led projects GRIP 1 to 8. Experienced in Designated Project Engineer (DPE) duties for Medium and Complex Projects. Experience of Functionally Equivalent Designs (FED) and have the RSE competence or ability to obtain. Also to provide Sig PE support to Heavy Track Renewals as part of Works Delivery (WD) portfolio. Location: Primarily York or Doncaster with travel required on the Eastern Region for site visits.
Senior Project Engineer - Signalling. Experienced in:
Functional Equivalent Design, (Responsible Signal Engineer) or ability to attain the competence.
SMTH, G110, A210 Testing methodologies.
Designated Project Engineer (DPE) for signalling projects (Low to High complexity) and Multi discipline projects.
Minor signalling renewals / life extension works.
Implement systems and procedures.
Competence management, inspections and audits of internal and external signalling staff.
Monitor all projects for compliance.
Undertake Construction CRE and CEM duties as required
