Our Government client is currently recruiting for a Senior Finance Business Partner paying £495 p/d inside IR35 on a remote contract basis.



Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecast processes and ensure credible budgets/forecasts are developed that withstand scrutiny by SMT and Board.

Overall responsibility for ensuring the Business Partners build effective relationships with DMTs, and as a result, can provide single point of contact advice, and effectively challenge their use of resources in meeting demand, performance measures and business plan priorities.


Minimum Requirement:

• Role based on measures FPN – financial performance measure and process improvements. Covering Southern region.

• Finance business partners provide targeted strategic insights across every department of a business. They base these insights on analysis of operational performance, industry dynamics, macro-economic trends and the competitor landscape.

Strong Microsoft Excel Skills - essential Oracle, Hyperion - advantageous

• FPM accountabilities - load, review, analyse, interpret financial data and hold stakeholder meetings.

• Understanding performance within local delivery areas.

• Process Improvement accountabilities - look at current processes in place and streamline, suggest and implement improvements to increase efficiency across wider business.

• Articulating large sets of data and providing insights.

• Managing stakeholders across finance, asset management, delivery - building strong relationships.

• Comfortable working with a level of ambiguity.

• Strong technical and modelling skills.

Transferrable capex and FPA experience.

• Passionate, inquisitive and an ability to challenge and manage expectations.

• Ability to work in a project based environment - working with regular reporting cycle and supporting adhoc work.

• Previous rail experience would be advantageous but not essential - if no rail experience need to demonstrate that they can learn quickly
