My client is a Hampshire based major Civil Engineering contractor. They specialise in Transportation, Highways and major Civil Engineering projects. With over 30 years of excellence in delivering projects within London. My client is seeking a well experience Health and Safety professional that is looking to join a forward thinking contractor and being an instrumental part of their overall company Health and Safety strategy and change.
Essential Experience:
- Minimum 10 years in a strategic Health and Safety role
- Main contractor – preferably a Rail/Civil Engineering contractor
- NEBOSH qualified
- Previously held a position where you were responsible for overall Health and Safety/Quality in organisation
- Strong background of working on Rail Projects
Duties/Responsibilities
-Monitoring and reporting HSEQ performance.
-Chairing HSQE meetings with senior managers.
-Produce regular HSEQ reports for presentation to the Board
-Ensure that Safety Improvement Plans are developed within the business and at contract level, challenging the implementation and delivery of these.
-Ensure ongoing compliance with all company accreditations (e.g. ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001, CHAS etc) and further standards in line with industry best practice.
-Implement and maintain a HSEQ integrated management system.
-Develop and maintain a functioning team that are performance managed.
-Have a clear understanding of costs and budget control within the department.
