The construction company, Wates, will host a number of events next week in order to meet potential suppliers and subcontractors for its proposed projects - the £15m Ellesmere Port Sport and Leisure Village and £14m Northwich Memorial Court.
Wates has revealed that it needs two subcontractors for the supply chain of its projects.
The first of the “Meet the Buyer” events will be held on Tuesday 21 January between 08.30am and 12.30 pm at West Cheshire College, Ellesmere Port.
The second will take place at Winnington Part Recreation Club, Northwich, on Thursday 23 January between 08.30am and 12.30pm.
The Business Unit Director for Wates Construction, North West, Tony Shenton, said: “Wates and Cheshire West and Chester Council have a shared commitment to ensuring that local suppliers and subcontractors are engaged in the delivery of the two new leisure developments for Ellesmere Port and Northwich.
“The two schemes are set to positively impact the local community once complete and Meet the Buyer events are a valuable means to ensuring delivery of the construction works brings benefit to the regional economy, helping to boost local employment.”
Local firms and businesses are encouraged to attend the event to tender for a range of opportunities, including curtain walling, cladding and roofing, building services, frame, and ceilings and partitions.
Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Executive Member for Culture and Economy, Councillor Stuart Parker, said: “We are determined to ensure that local businesses can benefit from these large-scale projects and connect with the supply chain wherever possible and I would urge businesses to come along to either of the ‘Meet The Buyer’ events to find out more.”
