The preferred bidder of the Hinckley council is now responsible for designing, building, operating and maintaining the new leisure centre for a 20-year period.
The centre will be built on the site of the council’s former offices with demolition phase scheduled to start next month and the main construction works in the summer.
Council leader, Stuart Bray, said: "Residents will get outstanding facilities, replacing those which are reaching the end of their lives, and a significant financial return over and above the cost of delivery. This is a clear 'win-win' for people."
Over the last six years DC Leisure has built 11 centres with a total cost of £110m.
The company representative said: “We work closely alongside a dedicated project team of architects, project managers, construction companies and subcontractors.”
Amongst the firm’s recent jobs is an £11m leisure centre in West Bromwich, where is main contractor is Pellikaan Construction.
Peter Kirkham, DC Leisure’s Development Director, commented: “We are delighted and excited to have been chosen by the council to be its new partner in building and delivering a high quality leisure services at the new Hinckley Leisure Centre, which subject to planning consent will be completed in 2015.”
The cost of the scheme will be fulfilled from funds, the sale of land on Middlefield Lane and the profits from the sale of the current leisure centre site.
