Five win £40m Network Rail decarbonisation deal

The partner contractors will undertake ‘common interventions’ worth over £40m in total that will help Network Rail meet its energy efficiency targets.

 

Energy efficiency retrofit specialist Johnson Control picked up the lion’s share of work securing lots totalling £29m, while Vital Energy and B&M McHugh secured work worth more than £4m.

Lighting : Johnson Controls Building Efficiency (£7m)

 

Upgrade Air Handling Units : Johnson Controls Building Efficiency (£2m)

 

Upgrade Building Fabric:

 

Eastern, North West & Central and Scotland: Taiziker Industrial (£1.5m)

 

Southern and Wales & Western: B&M McHugh (£1m)

 

Renewable Energy Generation: Johnson Controls Building Efficiency (£14m)

 

Water efficiency measures: No award

 

Utility Meter Installation: SMS Energy Services (£1.5m)

 

The rail infrastructure firm has completed over 150 energy audits so far and identified significant potential to reduce carbon and energy use.
