Our government client are currently looking for a WordPress Developer to join their team on a new contract.
Role: WordPress Developer & Engineer
Contracting Authority: BEIS – UK Research & Innovation
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: This role can be fully remote with just the need for the candidate to attend occasional meetings in Swindon

Pay Rate to Candidate: Umbrella - £550pd
Interview Process: Microsoft Teams
• Working within an Agile team and backlog management
• Setting up instances of WordPress to necessary standards
• Front-end development, including creation of WordPress themes
• Managing WordPress instances (including installation of and updates to related plugins)
• Ensuring accessibility, security and disaster recovery (eg regular back-ups) best practice is followed
• Experience of working to the principles of GDS (Government Digital Service) standards
• Collaborate with members of a multidisciplinary team, including content and design professionals
• Manage front-end and back-end website development
• Create (or update existing) WordPress themes
• Identify (or create) WordPress plugins that meet specific business and/or user needs
• Maintain well-documented, reusable and transferrable code that meets best practice standards
• Work with content and design professionals to create content and form templates within WordPress
• Troubleshoot and resolve website problems for clients and co-workers
• Stay abreast of new developments in software, trends and practices
