Our Major Government client is currently recruiting for a Services Procurement Lead, on a 6 month remote contract paying £600 P/D inside IR35.

Contract Length: 6 months

Location: WFH- Remote

Pay Rate to Candidate: Up to £600 per day

Job Description:

Managing aspects of the delivery of the T&T Commercial contract management

Drafting, evaluating, negotiating and executing contract

Establishing and maintaining supplier relationships by serving as a single point of contract for contractual matters

Managing record keeping for all contracted – related correspondence and documentation

Providing both internal and external contract-related issue resolution

Monitoring and completing contract close-out, extension or renewal, as appropriate

Communicating contract -related information to all stakeholders

Identifying and following through of contract management improvements - value for money, efficiency and effectiveness

Commercial Managers are responsible for the management of contracts made between DHSC and suppliers. Contract management includes negotiating the terms and conditions in contracts and ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions, as well as documenting and agreeing on any changes or amendments that may arise during its implementation or execution. Using your expertise you will systematically and efficiently managing contract creation, execution, and analysis for the purpose of maximizing financial and operational performance and minimizing risk. Building and maintaining supplier relationships are a key part of the role and you will be expected to engage with suppliers on a regular basis to ensure that all areas of the contractual relationship are optimised. This will include chairing monthly supplier reviews including key stakeholders for the Test and trace Programme

Leadership and Management:

• Deputise for the Senior Commercial Manager where necessary

• Promote strong working relationships both within the team and with other parts of the Commercial function

• Lead, manage and motivate staff providing a positive, collaborative and proactive working environment.

Delivery of a wide and varied portfolio of contracts:

• Manage commercial activity with level in own Letter of Delegation

• Input to Procurement Strategies and develop commercial strategy and associated contracting strategy

• Implement the preferred commercial option

• Compile and issue tenders

• Negotiate and place contracts

• Amend and manage contracts and contract changes

• Provide commercial advice and guidance as required

• Ensure all commercial activity represents best value for money

• Ensure compliance with regulations and policy as well as best practice

• Exploit existing enabling arrangements where available

• Maximise use of procurement enablers and associated management information systems to improve procurement.

Commercial Scrutiny and assurance:

• Scrutiny and analysis of commercial strategies and contracting proposals

• Undertake commercial assurance

• Provide timely inputs to returns as required.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with project and other acquisition team members to deliver Customer requirements

• Manage a range of stakeholder engagements internally and within industry

• Engage stakeholders on planning, tendering, contracting and contract administration

• Work with required stakeholders to secure approvals.

Business Improvement

• Support and promote wider Government initiatives

• Identify ways in which to continuously improve the commercial processes and function

• Create effective means of communications to increase the sense of community across the function
