Our government client are currently looking for a Product Manager to join their team on a new contract.  


Contract Length: End of March 23  

Location: Hybrid, Home and Swindon Office

• Own and manage the product vision, promoting support and buy-in across the entire organisa-tion and its stakeholder communities as a service which meets user needs  

• Lead your agile team, empowering them to run their delivery teams  

• Ensure your domain expertise is kept up to date by maintaining close contact with key business stakeholders across UKRI. This includes working closely with the wider Reforming our Business and UKRI councils.  

• Work closely with technology, policy and business change teams to understand organisational constraints and how best to tackle them in order to achieve a simpler service which meets user needs.  

• Own your product communicating purpose and direction with clarity, integrity and enthusiasm  

• Prioritising user needs and deliverables in line with resources and timescales  

• Define, own and solve problems regarding service design and functionality such that the product and service can deliver outcomes rather than features.  

• Represent your users throughout the delivery process, ensuring that user needs are reflected in the service design.  

• Work closely with your user researchers, testers and service designers, scoping their tasks and at-tend/monitor user research and testing sessions to keep abreast of user feedback  

• Ensure user personas are kept fresh, up to date and in sync with the service design  

• Manage the product through discovery, alpha, beta and live states.  

• Manage the product backlog, working closely with business analysts and the user experience team members and create a product roadmap for MVP and beyond  

• Present the product and service at Show and Tells and ad hoc demonstrations  

• Be an advocate for user centred design at UKRI wide meetings and events.  



• Experience of product management  

• Good financial acumen and an understanding of achieving commercial outcomes, delivering add-ed value, understanding market and customer issues and using these to promote innovative busi-ness models.  

• Proven ability to build effective working relationships with agile project and programme teams  



• Working knowledge or experience of the Government Digital Service standard and how it can ef-fect digital transformation  

• Demonstrable Portfolio Management Office experience or experience of supporting a fast-paced operational function  

• Proven understanding of the grant funding landscape in UK government, particularly with respect to research and innovation funding
