Our Blue chip contractor is currently looking for a Front End Developer for a 12 months contract at £380pd PAYE.
As a frontend developer, you will develop, modify, and maintain elements of services that people see and interact with at Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
You will work with agile, multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with Delivery Managers, User Researchers, Business Analysts, Test Automation Engineers, Technical Architects and other Software Engineers to deliver world-class services designed for the people who use them, in line with the government’s Digital Service Standard.
You will build accessible user interfaces for services, both in prototype and production environments. These interfaces must work across multiple devices and browsers. You will take responsibility for the quality of code you produce by ensuring a high level of unit test coverage as well as assisting and writing journey tests in partnership with the teams QAs.
You will be expected to use the Government Design System (GDS) components to allow for rapid prototyping and then building of the live service. Your responsibilities will include development and maintenance of production code.
· At least 3 years working within an agile team environment
· HTML (inc. Nunjucks) & CSS (inc. CSS preprocessors, e.g. Sass)
· Unit testing – Mocha.js, Chai.js
· User accessibility
· CI tooling like Git, Gitlab CI
· Government Design System (GDS)
Nice to have skills/experience:
· Experience working with container technologies
