Our government client is currently looking for a Digital Dev Ops Senior for a 3 months contract at £650pd inside IR35.  

 

Contract Length: 3 months  

Location: Telford or Remote  

IR35: Inside  

Pay Rate to Candidate: 650/day UMBRELLA  

Security Clearance: BPSS  

 

 

The successful applicant should have at least two years experience as a Platform Engineer/DevOps engineer and have all the essential skills and at least one of the focus skills sets.  

 

Essential  

 

• Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Tooling  

• AWS with automation tooling (i.e. Terraform / Ansible / GitLab)  

• Enterprise experience working in DevOps, Agile & Scrum teams  

• Enterprise Git Flow  

• Automating unit, integration and user acceptance testing  

• Automating platform & application security  

• Enterprise experience in developing software solutions to support Business Continuity and High Availability  

• Docker  

• A strong background in RHEL (RedHat Enterprise Linux) Administration with automation/configuration management using Ansible or an equivalent.  

• Proven experience using Terraform and AWS providers.  

• Experience with IAM (Identity and Access Management) technologies.  

• Demonstrate an ability to communicate across IT disciplines to get the best solution and ensure nothing gets overlooked that could jeopardise performance or the integrity of the existing IT estate.  

 

Focus Skill – Application Monitoring and Logging  

• Monitoring, Logging & Data Insights platforms - Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, Thanos including automated deployment through to dashboard design  

• Integration into ServiceNow  

 

Focus Skill – Gitlab CI/CD  

• Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery - automating GitLab infrastructure deployments through to customer application exploitation use cases and patterns  

 

Focus Skill – Binary Repositories / Source Code Analysis  

• Binary repositories and Software Composition Analysis - automating JFrog Artifactory and X-Ray infrastructure deployments through to customer application exploitation use cases and patterns  

 

Desirable  

• Azure with automation tooling (i.e. Terraform / Ansible / GitLab)  

• Kubernetes  

• Experience of working in an Agile environment and experience with Agile methodologies such as TDD, Scrum, Kanban  

 

Key tasks:  

• Produce automation playbooks using Ansible as defined by the assigned product backlog.  

• Develop and deliver Terraform deployment code.  

• Work as part of a technical team in a collaborative and innovative way, developing ECS Cloud products and services.  

• Design and develop tooling, products and solutions for the ECS Cloud team at the direction of the Product Owners and Senior Cloud stakeholders  

• Ensure deployment strategies for products are repeatable, scalable and highly available and will also have a deep technical knowledge, providing support to delivery teams and solving complex problems.  

• Continual knowledge development of Cloud provider roadmaps and maintain proficiency in industry technologies and trends.  

• Implement new capabilities into the ECS Cloud team offerings and service catalogues.  

• Review and ensure conformance of tooling test plans to meet expected quality standards.  

• Advise on Dev Ops standards, procedures, methods, tools and techniques.  

• Engage in knowledge transfer across ECS Cloud.  

• Engage in continuous improvement to improve ECS Cloud performance.

• Deliver to challenging timescales.
