DESCRIPTION:

Determine and implement the testing strategy, set testing standards and test metrics.Ensure traceability of testing against requirements.Determine the approach to assurance of supplier testing and the process for end to end testing across the application and dependent systems.Define and implement best practices both within the QA team and across the wider team.Drive the usage of QA frameworks and tools. Lead recruitment to ensure the team continues to deliver and grow.Support continuous improvement in the QA team.

We are looking for an exceptional Automation Test Engineer to work on this project that will:

* Own and oversee the test strategy for the project.

* Make key decisions relating to test within the context of the delivery environment.

* Be responsible for test improvement and optimisation.

* Be able to ensure an effective and efficient service is built, meets user needs and optimises test practices.

* Be able to advise on, design and execute a wide range of testing techniques and communicate test results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

* Be effective in utilising a range of contemporary technologies including cloud platforms, open source and ‘aaS’ services to better enable and enhance the delivery of QAT services.

* Be agile minded in approach.

* Write test cases for user stories.

* Produce automation test scripts based on project user stories.

* Provide mentoring to other team members.

* Be able to assess and peer review the test work of others.

* Work in collaboration with architects, security experts, devops and developers to ensure that the application testing approach meets the technical objectives and departmental standards and practices.

* Work closely with all members of the delivery team to deliver a high-quality automated test pipeline.

* Can pay attention to detail but is also able to see the big picture.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, passionate about quality assurance, test automation tools, frameworks and best practices. They will also possess good people skills, with strong problem solving capabilities, able to think strategically, delivery and quality focused.

1) Experience of working in Agile products, creating automation as the work through the testing

2) Collaboration and team work – highly functional and performing team. Working in small teams and they’re the only quality assurance.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

• At least 5 years commercial experience as an Automation Test Engineer within continuous delivery/deployment environments.

• A wide range of testing experience and previous experience acting as a Senior or Lead Tester within experienced teams.

• Strong experience of working on agile projects.

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

• A strong technical understanding of web apps.

• Experience in QA practices such as exploratory, regression, performance testing and automation.

• Experience in writing complex automated tests using C# and Visual Studio.

• Source Control Management (SCM) e.g. Git.

• Experience with Selenium Webdriver for browser test automation.

• Experience with XUnit.

• Experience with RestSharp and/or API test tools such as Postman.

• Experience with performance/load testing tools such as JMeter.

Desirable

• Any experience in writing tests using .NET Core.

• Experience of using SpecFlow for BDD.

• Experienced in testing distributed applications.

• Any experience with Jenkins.

• Any experience in AWS.

Any knowledge or exposure to Oracle EBS, FMW or Siebel.
