Job description

This contract with our central government client is for a Trainer for 11 months. The role requires 5 days per week on ship in Gosport. The pay rate is £450 per day umbrella.  

 

Some of the main responsibilities include:  

• Train and educate aeronautical engineering (AE), electronic and mechanical engineering (EME), nuclear and marine engineering (MarE) and communications and information systems (CIS) personnel in order to meet the Defence requirement.  

• Supervise and mentor trainees during their periods of instruction paying attention their safety and wellbeing, reporting concerns to line management  

• Prepare and deliver training as required by the Instructional Specification.  

• Carry out Ship Auxiliaries systems theoretical and practical instruction including but not limited to (dependant on SQEP) the following courses as directed by M3SE/M3DTS/M3DTM:  

- VA/CBM/Mimic course  

- SEMC Officers GS/MESM/CF/INT.  

- ME108E/ME702 Maintenance theory(13-31 & Equivalent). .  

- ME 462 adCBM  

- ME 298 adCBM  

- ME63 Mimic  

- ME63A Mimic  

- ME257 VA/CBM  

- ME256VA  

- ME151 Air Health Monitoring/Rotating Machinery  

• Act as the Maintenance and Auxiliaries Module Responsible Instructor (MRI) and maintain up to date Instructional Specifications, Dockets and other documentation for the following courses:  

o SEMC Officers GS/MESM/CF/INT (13-31 & Equivalent).  

o ME 462 adCBM  

o ME 298 adCBM  

o ME63 Mimic  

o ME63A Mimic  

o ME257 VA/CBM  

o ME256VA  

o ME151 Air Health Monitoring/Rotating Machinery  

• Assess training as required by the Assessment Specification.  

• Maintain records of student attendance and performance during training.  

• Ensure that all records and feedback are promptly returned to the relevant sections iaw Training Standing Orders and Processes.  

• Initiate appropriate action for non-attendees or failures.  

• Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of classrooms/laboratories/Workshops and materials used by M3 MA8.

Requirements

• Recent relevant experience and a recognised qualification minimum ONC in the post field of expertise.  

 

The desired professional skills, knowledge or qualifications for the post are as follows:  

a) HNC/HND Engineering (relevant field), a recognised teaching qualification(DTTTv2/CERT-ED/PGCE/Level4 Qualification in Education).
