This contract with our Central Government is 6 months long. The role is located in London, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, hubs in many other cities across UK, there is a requirement to be in the office for 2 days a week. The pay rate is £476.15 per day umbrella or £358.38 PAYE.  

 

Job Description:  

 

As a Software Asset Manager, you will contribute to the development and delivery of a high-quality Software Asset Management process to be consistently delivered. You will lead any activities between Software Asset Management Team and the Prison Technology Transformation Programme (PTTP) to ensure successful delivery of services into BAU. Essential to your success will be the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a variety of suppliers, both internal and external, and business stakeholders.  

 

Some of the main responsibilities include:  

• Draw from previous experience and industry best practices to support delivery of strategic goals.  

• Engage with other service management processes and PTTP to support Software Asset Management deliverables.  

• Manage software asset terms and conditions, product usage rights and licencing issues.  

• Govern and support the processes regarding the effectiveness of the Software Asset Management, identifying any risks or issues.  

• Drive forward activities to deliver key improvements ensuring processes are’ fit for purpose’ along with knowledge transfer and education from projects to BAU Teams.  

• Manage the tools and technologies to track Software and Hardware assets through their lifecycle.  

• Provide clear evidence-based recommendations on asset utilisation / volumetrics, and compliance etc, to enable SMT, projects and business areas to make informed decisions.  

• Drive forward activities to deliver key Service Improvements including VFM opportunities.  

• Support audits, reconciliations of software licenses, to ensure our Client fulfils its software licence obligations  

• Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are monitored and met providing reports on a scheduled / unscheduled basis as required.  

• Work with Suppliers, Project Managers, Service Owners and other key stakeholders to ensure Software Asset policies, procedures and processes are aligned and adhered too, include Joiners, movers and leavers (JML)

ITIL 4 foundation  

 

Skills:

● Understanding of service management framework - Has an in-depth understanding of Service Management Framework principles and processes and the ability to apply the technical knowledge in project or programme activities  

● Service focus - Maintains focus on the whole life of service delivery - designs, develops, delivers and operates.  

● Relationship management - Identifies, analyses, manages and monitors relationships with and between stakeholders.  

● Ownership and initiative - Takes ownership of problems and proactively resolves technical problems, ensuring that technical solutions continue to meet business requirements.  

● Strategic thinking - Able to have an overall perspective on business issues, events, activities and an understanding of their wider implications and long-term impact.  

● Service Reporting - Takes management information and consolidates agreed key performance indicators into product or service measures that underpin service management of a specific product or service.  

● Business analysis (IT operations) - Able to visualise, articulate, solve complex problems and concepts, and make disciplined decisions based on available information.  

● Continual service improvement - Identifies and explores opportunities for service and business improvement.  

● Broad technical understanding - This specific knowledge underpins an individual’s ability to deliver the responsibilities and tasks for their role.  

 

Security Clearance: BPSS, but must be eligible for SC, client might take candidates through SC clearance process in the future
