Our Public sector client is currently recruiting for a Senior User Researcher, on a 6 month contract paying £700 P/D inside IR35.

Senior User Researcher: 2 HC

WFH: Leeds or London (1 day a week)

Day Rate: £700 p/d

Substantial specialist knowledge of a range of research approaches including both quantitative and qualitative methodology.

Applied working knowledge of the user centred design process.

Extensive knowledge of appropriate research methods across the user-centred design lifecycle and how to implement them.

Thorough understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies applying different/specific approaches when required.

Knowledge of Agile project management techniques.

Knowledge of the health sector.

Developing a new strategic solution

Substantial experience of conducting research with a design or user experience focus.

Experience of working with multidisciplinary teams, especially designers and product managers and ability to prioritise findings and work with the product team to identify actions and recommendations.

Considerable experience of implementing the full research lifecycle from designing research, to planning, implementation, recruitment, conducting research, analysing data, eliciting findings and communicating recommendations.

Demonstrable experience of conducting and leading discovery research as well as research to test hypotheses and prototypes.

Experience leading and facilitating joint analysis sessions with non - research colleagues.

Extensive experience of using a variety of qualitative and quantitative research techniques and an understanding of how the two approaches complement each other.

Extensive experience of quantitative research activities such as: questionnaire design and analysis of quantitative data.

Extensive experience of qualitative research activities such as: interview design, moderation, usability testing, facilitating workshops, contextual enquiry, co-design, ethnographic research.

Experience of leading research within an agile multi-disciplinary team with product owners, content designers, visual designers

Experience of conducting usability testing sessions: designing tasks and scenarios, using a range of tools to collect data, and providing recommendations supported by evidence such as video, graphs, tables and pictures.

Uses multiple data sources to triangulate understanding of behaviour.

Ability to use a range of software, tools and methods (e.g., online survey and remote user testing software, thematic analysis, basic data analysis etc.) to conduct user research analysis in order to make robust recommendations.

Ability to analyse and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data and choose appropriate methods to do so.

Confident in regularly presenting research findings to the wider organisation, externally and to senior stakeholders and proven ability to communicate the findings by using appropriate tools and language.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate and resolve conflict both within the agile team and amongst senior stakeholders

Proven ability to transfer and develop skills and knowledge into new areas at short notice.
