Our government client is currently looking for a Research Lead (Technology) for 5 months hybrid contract based in London at £400pd inside IR35. 

 

Contract Length: End of FY 31/03/2022 

Location: Remote, maybe 2 days a week onsite London 

IR35: In scope 

Pay Rate to Candidate: £400 per day Umbrella 

 

 

5G Knowledge Management and Benefits Lead 

This Grade A level role, temporarily available until at least the end of March 2021, is based in the exciting 5G Testbeds and Trials (5GTT) Programme, which aims to stimulate market development and deployment of 5G technology and infrastructure in the UK. Testbeds will help industry understand the challenges of deploying cutting edge technologies according to the developing international standards for future 5G networks. Subsequent testing of applications will help prove use of different applications, such as in Health and Social care, Tourism and manufacturing, bringing ideas closer to commercial viability for future markets. The Programme is also now supporting projects from the Government’s Diversification Strategy. 

 

Reporting into the Head of Business Operations the role of Knowledge Management and Benefits Lead will be at the centre of achieving the programme’s goals, connecting other parts of the programme together, encouraging collaboration between projects, steering the programme towards expected and emerging benefits and providing material to share and influence externally. They will also be supporting the Programme Evaluation Lead in delivering the Programme’s Interim Evaluation. 

 

This role will have responsibility for: 

- ensuring that findings and lessons across testbeds and trials are captured and disseminated 

- supporting 5G Programme Delivery team, Project Managers and Technical Advisors in developing the best Benefits Realisation evidence for their projects 

- supporting the evaluation of the Programme (a separate additional role exists that leads on this) 

 

Person Specification 

Essential: 

● Experience of designing research experiments and analysing results  

● Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills 

● Experience of organising information, files and folders within a corporate and/or project environment 

● Experience capturing and sharing information using multiple platforms to reach diverse audiences 

 

Desirable: 

● Experience of benefits management/realisation 

● Information management qualification and/or experience 

● Knowledge of or experience in the telecommunications sector 

● Experience working on technology projects or programmes 

● Experience of working with Google products at an enterprise level 

● Project management qualification or equivalent experience
