This contract with our central government client is for a Project Manager for 18 months. The role is located in Aldermaston and requires 3-4 days per week onsite.  

 

Job Description:  

 

Key Accountabilities:  

- Deliver assigned projects in accordance with requirements, operational constraints, time, cost and quality.  

- Lead, coach and develop a team at a local level to deliver team and personal objectives safely and securely to meet their operational plans.  

- Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.  

 

Key Responsibilities:  

- Manage projects with focus on Governance (compliance and reporting).  

- Management of project resources (people, money).  

- Lead the planning of the task/project.  

- Manage work as defined in the Work Authorisation Document (WAD).  

- Lead, support and initiate change against the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).  

- Lead, initiate and perform risk and opportunity identification and subsequent actions.  

- The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.

Requirements

• Nuclear experience  

• Experienced Project Manager  

• worked on full range of complex projects, multi-disciplinary  

• Knows way round a Project Manager toolkit  

• Must have end to end project experience  

• MS Office  

• Schedule Management  

• Experience more important than qualifications  

• Ideally will have an appropriate Project Manager qualification/membership of professional body, but will accept equivalent experience  

• Stakeholder Management  

 

You will need:  

- Good standard of education to include English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent.  

- Build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships  

- Read, analyse and interpret charts, spreadsheets, schedules and (in some business areas) technical drawings  

- Clear and concise communication approach, both oral and written, at multiple levels. Compile and present presentations to peers and Senior Managers  

- Build good team morale and spirit and motivate others  

- Manage resources effectively (people, budget, equipment)  

- Allocate and manage work of team members, taking account of individuals’ different abilities and workloads  

- Listen to stakeholder requests, assimilate and convert into project team action, plans and schedules  

- Hold people to account when they under deliver or let standards slip  

- Use Microsoft Office tools  

- Evidence of successfully leading cross-functional teams in a moderately complex project  

- Proven experience of project delivery  

 

Desirable:  

- Graduate level of qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.  

- Membership of a relevant professional body.  

- Evidence of project management competence e.g. APM qualifications.  

- Motivating and managing in a highly regulated environment  

- Earned Value Management
