Security Clearance: Must have SC Clearance

Our Client is one of the largest Government Departments and one of the UK’s biggest organisations. Almost every individual and business in the UK is a direct customer of Our Client. We collect in excess of £500 billion a year in revenue from over 50 million customers across the UK.
Our Client has a need for a temporary worker to fill a requirement as a Senior Database Administrator to work in their CDIO Customer Compliance Team. This role is for various projects (SOTF Oracle OEM and RMAN Shared Service Support and Live Database Service Support for NPS, Child Benefit, DMS, CMA, CSG Customs and BBSI).
You will be required to install and maintain the database software, create storage structures, set up user accounts, debug malfunctioning programs, create backups, and regularly maintain the database security. To ensure success as an Oracle database administrator, you should have extensive experience with DBA front-end and back-end tools, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with Oracle database management.
Essential Criteria
Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems, and SQL.
Knowledge of programming languages and API.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to visualize algorithmic structures.
Expertise in Oracle database management, performance tuning and optimisation.
Expertise in provisioning Oracle databases on Linux platforms including database upgrade, regular patching and maintenance.
Excellent Linux and shell scripting skills.
Excellent understanding of Agile deliveries, collaborative tooling and techniques including Jira and Kanban.
Good understanding of DevOps practices, continuous delivery tooling and automation using Ansible, TerraForm and Git.
Good understanding of designing and implementing databases in Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure using IaaS or PaaS.
Oracle Certified Professional.
Expertise in the following Oracle technology stack:
Database 12c and 19c
Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Grid Infrastructure 12c and 19c
Data Guard in ASYNC and SYNC modes
GoldenGate replication
Please note that there is a requirement to be included in a 24x7 on-call rota (1 in 4 weeks with TOIL given in return) and you must hold a valid SC clearance check, prior to starting in post.
