To develop work plans for discrete areas, including identification of improvements to systems, capabilities and/or process.

To use existing and emerging engineering practice to deliver work plans, which improve systems and products and provide advice and services for the benefit of customers.

To generate and present documentation and reports internally and externally in order to meet the needs of the customer, including; maintaining capability, integrity, standards; and/or communicating advice and knowledge and/or promoting reputation.

To mentor and provide engineering advice to other team members to improve the effectiveness of the team.

To carry out continuing professional development in line with current and future needs.

The post’s roles and responsibilities are as follows:

a) Evaluate the customer requirements from tasks received and respond accordingly by working within their skilled Spectrum disciplines.

b) The post holder will be expected to assist Domain Engineer on Spectrum Functional Assurance tasks and take on responsibilities of Domain Engineer to lead when required for the duration of specific tasks.

c) Understand the responsibilities and roles resident in the delivery of risk assessed Spectrum solutions.

d) Independently and working alongside other Engineers to help customers identify and mitigate the Spectrum risks to which they may be exposed.

e) Be receptive to changing working practices and proactively explore alternative methods of delivering Spectrum solutions.

f) Represent a common Spectrum approach to the customer.

g) Support all Spectrum Team disciplines as required by Engineering Team Leader.

h) Supporting managers in performing physical and technical assessments.

i) Supporting managers in appropriately providing advice and guidance to Organisation's customers.

j) Manage the equipment holdings of the section, ensuring all equipment is working correctly, calibrated, packed and ready to deploy on trial.

k) Preparing and reviewing technical and logistic documentation, preparing and reviewing technical standards, including all the necessary stakeholder engagement.

NOTE: Due to security and information access restriction, the role is only open to a sole BRITISH national with active DV clearance.


Minimum requirements:

- Must have a good awareness/experience of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) or working in an RF engineering environment

- Must hold a full UK driving licence

- Previous military experience highly desirable

- Good communication skills


- ONC in an Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering

- Discipline or appropriate equivalent engineering qualification (Level 3 of equivalent)

- Knowledge of Counter-Eavesdropping (TSCM)
