Our government client is currently looking for a Digital Front End Developer for 3 months contract at £650pd inside IR35. Occasional travel to Plymouth required.

Role: Digital Front End Developer

Contract Length: 3 months

Location: Remote/Plymouth but majority WFH (workshop 1 a month)

IR35: Inside

Pay Rate to Candidate: Umb 650/day

Minimum Requirement: These skills focus on the development work needed to build the Portal homepage from agreed designs and prototypes, Essential/strong, Html, CSS, JavaScript, Python Flask, Scrum, Agile ways of working. Java script and React. Some exposure Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm charts, OpenShift. Design, build and improve website software that meets user needs. Responsible for writing clean, accessible code following a progressive enhancement approach; create code that is open by default and easy for others to reuse; design software which meets user needs and creates meaningful interactions and relationships with users; understanding of the three fundamental frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript). Build software components, primarily in the form of user interfaces.

Collaborate and work closely with other disciplines to develop designs and working prototypes based on user needs and in support of organisational aims; develop software components that form part of a product to meet user needs; write clean, well-tested code that follows web standards.

Typical Skills: Review specifications and use these agreed specifications to design, code, test and document user interfaces of medium to high complexity, using the right standards and tools. Prioritise and define approaches to understand the user story. Translate agreed designs into working user interfaces following modern standards. Build static assets from source code and test the resulting user interface works. Work on integration tests and support configuration of the network part of the system. Competently use a modern standards approach. Actively building prototypes and testing with others. Know a variety of methods of prototyping and choose the most appropriate ones. Build user interfaces that meet a predefined set of standards.

Offer recommendations on the best tools and methods to be used when accessibility testing. Able to make decisions characterised by different levels of risk and complexity. Capable of resolving technical disputes between wider peers and indirect stakeholders. Support activities to improve web performance. Pull out issues through agile health-checks with the team to provoke the right responses.

• business users’ needs are met through a modern, responsive and accessible Portal homepage – increasing their ability to self-serve and to access HMLR services easily.

• delivers into beta a redesigned Portal homepage which increases customer satisfaction rates (supports our KPI on customer satisfaction), drives increased reputational image for HMLR and demonstrates our commitment to our Customer strategy.
