This contract with our Central Government Client is 6 months long. The role requires 2 days a week in the London office an the rest remote working. The pay rate for this role is £700 per day umbrella or £515.50 PAYE.  

 

Job Description:  

 

You will be an experienced Data Engineer from an AWS background. The majority of your experience will have come from doing the heavy lifting of building AWS data pipelines. Candidates from an AWS infrastructure type background will be preferred ideally with lots of DevOps experience, cloud based IAC technologies - Terraform or serverless. Data Scientists and data analysts will not be suitable for this role.  

 

The client is at the heart of the government providing critical data to the PMs team to help with some of the most critical issues facing government. The centre brings timely data analysis and insights from across and beyond government to support situational awareness on crisis and national security issues. It is run by a diverse team of highly skilled people who will integrate, analyse, and visualise data from a centrally located collaborative hub  

 

Security Clearance: BPSS (basic disclosure) but once offered/started, Client will put candidate through SC clearance as required to continue working in role.

Requirements

-You will be an experienced Data Engineer with the following technical skills; Strong AWS experience (ideally including Lambda, Glue, Redshift, Sagemaker, IAM, Athena, EC2, Kinesis, Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail) Python, SQL  

-DevOps background with good knowledge of cloud based IAC technologies. Terraform or serverless  

-Git as version control  

-Familiar with CI/CD  

-Any exposure to Machine Learning is a bonus  

 

Essential: AWS, Python, Glue, Lambdas, SQL, CI/CD, ETL  

 

Desirable: _Redshift, Sagemaker, IAM, Athena, EC2, Kinesis, Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail, Git as version control, Machine learning a bonus_

Solid ETL experience  

Basic AWS Administration experience  

Python  

SQL  

AWS Lambda  

AWS S3  

AWS Glue  

AWS Athena  

AWS Cloudwatch  

AWS EventBridge  

AWS RDS
