Our government client is currently looking for a Commercial Officer for a 6 month contract at £500 outside IR35.

Rates: £500

Location: Remote for now but potentially moving into the London office later on

Out of Scope

6 month duration plus extension

Clearance level: SC Essential

-Must have solid & Proven Pub Sec background

-must be able to hit the ground running

Description:

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:

To deliver an integrated commercial advisory role that supports all parts of the commercial lifecycle; early engagement, pre-procurement, procurement and delivery (contract management commercial advice).

The role will work within a [strategic category team/programme team], employing a clear category management approach to managing spend and securing contracts, that supports a Category/Programme Team for the [Security and Facilities Management (FM) Services Category across the Global Estates/other teams].

The job holder will work within their team to engage with internal colleagues to proactively seek opportunities to drive additional value/increase efficiency.

Delivery in this role will rely on establishing the needs of the business and translating this to effective category based commercial strategies that enable the achievement of value for money, whilst maintaining commitment and achieving outcomes relating to relevant policy and strategic requirements.

This is a hands on role, with one of strategic procurement, programme/project management and supplier relationship management (SRM) being important skills, with support from within the team to build on these skills. Important also will be the requisite interpersonal skills to work with our stakeholders in line with the Commercial Strategy and the Values.

The jobholder will play a supportive role in shaping and managing the categories shaping the [Security and FM] commercial and procurement strategy as well as building over time an extremely high level of category expertise and procurement capability within the team.

In your role as Commercial Advisor ensure Gender Equality Act compliance and support [CSSF / PF] ambitions on women’s economic opportunities, inclusive growth and poverty reduction through your department / team

More specifically, the job-holder will deliver on:

• MCIPS Qualification or industry relevant equivalent [experience].

• An understanding of category management

• Relevant Commercial/Procurement experience in the public sector and/or complex commercial environment.

• Excellent communication across the range of media.

• Profficient use of Microsoft suite

• Profficient use of e-sourcing platforms
