Our Public sector client is currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager on a 6 month contract basis paying £600 P/D Inside IR35.

Role: Commercial Manager

Contract Length: 6 months

Location: Remote but will be expected to go into either London or Leeds when required

IR35: Inside

Pay Rate to Candidate: £600 per day

Security Clearance: BPSS (Basic Disclosure)

Experience required

• Experienced in assessing requirements and drafting, and socialising commercial and procurement strategies

• Experience running procurements end to end, including requirements analysis and documentation, tender pack drafting, supplier/market engagement, contract drafting, negotiation, finalisation and award

• Confident in independently executing procurement strategies

• Commercially astute – understands the whole procurement lifecycle

• Deep understanding of how procurement works and associated risks

• Public procurement regulations knowledge

• Highly desirable - ICT and data procurement space experience

• Experience of working with and managing a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders

• Independent workers – someone that doesn’t need any training

• Team player

Commercial Specialist, Data Services Directorate

We are seeking a Commercial Specialist to join our team based in either our Leeds or London office. As part of our team, you will be at the forefront in delivering our ambition - Working together to harness the power of the marketplace to deliver maximum value to our healthcare system. We do this to enable us to support ourstaff at work, help people get the best care, and use the nation's health data to drive research and transform services.

You will join a team of commercial experts specialising in digital and technology and will work with some of the biggest global and health technology suppliers, ensuing that we get best value out of the significant investments we make every year. You will have the opportunity to work on a full range of procurements and contracts from smaller specialised areas to some of the biggest and most complex technology deals.

In this role you will be assume the role as commercial lead for high-profile programmes within the Data Services Directorate. You will work closely with the business to help drive value for money decisions, develop commercial strategies and provide guidance and advice on a wide range of commercial matters. This role will be responsible for helping create strategic solutions that deliver the best possible commercial outcomes for the directorate and have a significant commercial impact on the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the technology sector and working in a complex commercial environment.

As a Commercial Lead you will:

• Work closely with stakeholders, acting as a trusted commercial advisor providing comprehensive commercial guidance to the business drawing out ley risks and compliance issues

• Lead the delivery of complex and novel commercial projects, supporting the directorate in identifying and implementing strategies that deliver the most suitable outcomes

• Take the lead on supplier relationship and contract management to deliver business outcomes whilst recognising the importance of the suppliers commercial drivers/objectives

• Supporting commercial colleagues with delivering the overall team ambition and objectives

• Deliver cashable savings and other financial/non-financial benefits

About you

Some of the key skills and experience you'll bring to the role:

• Experience of assessing business requirements and leading on the development of commercial and procurement strategies

• Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders, influencing and challenging decision making

• Understanding of commercial contracts and ability to negotiate, draft, analyse and assure complex agreements

• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

• Relevant experience working in the technology sector and a breadth of experience in a commercial role

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly establish relationships and manage key stakeholders

• Able to thrive in a dynamic and intense organisation, comfortable with ambiguity and change

• Experience of working as an expert or lead role in undertaking strategic procurement exercises to improve value for money

• Experience of end-to-end commercial lifecycle and adhering to appropriate Public Procurement Regulations

• MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification and / or evidence of equivalent level of experience
