This contract with our central government client is for a Change manager for 9 months. The role is located in London and Glasgow and you will be required to be onsite twice a week. Candidates based in Glasgow will be expected to attend London office 2-3 times a month.  

 

Job Description:  

 

The Change and Engagement Manager will be responsible for supporting staff through the implementation of new cross-government HR, Payroll, Finance and Procurement ways of working that will be delivered via new IT and associated services.  

They will support the implementation of a sponsorship-led approach to business readiness planning and assurance. They will need to ensure their people and managers accept the rationale for change and understand what it means for them, and they are ready to adopt the new ways of working, so that benefits can be realised.  

 

The successful candidate will need to establish and manage multiple relationships to support programme delivery and the realisation of benefits, including the following stakeholder groups: business leads across the department; commercial suppliers; cross-government delivery partners; and senior leaders.  

They will support the delivery of the Programme’s change and engagement strategies to ensure the department’s effective transition to the new ways of working. The Change and Engagement Manager will develop supporting products and plans in collaboration with cross-government departments and external delivery partners.  

They will have excellent relationship management skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and experience of influencing at all levels to ensure stakeholders are engaged effectively.  

The Change and Engagement Manager will deliver project and operational communications and engagement activities. They will ensure communications and engagement activities are relevant to stakeholders and land effectively using key artefacts like stakeholder maps and communications plans. They will draft engaging content for a range of audiences using visuals, email, video, newsletters, and will monitor and evaluate their effectiveness.  

The role is fast paced and the successful candidate will need to be able to manage evolving and competing priorities.  

The role is based in either Glasgow or London and home working can be accommodated up to 60% of the time. Travel to and from your preferred base location will be met at your own expense (home to office travel will not be reimbursed), however if based in Glasgow then occasional travel to London will be expected and this will be paid for in line with their Departmental travel policy.

Requirements

- Experience supporting change delivery (not leadership role such as head of change / practitioner)  

- Strong stakeholders engagement experience  

- Experience working in dynamic and fast paste environment preferably on a similar project or programme  

- Pref. candidates experienced working in public sector (central or local gov)
