The Plant Facing Design Office/Site Architects has a requirement for an Intermediate Architectural Technologist to provide a design service to various OUs across business.

The scope will be (but not limited to);

To provide professional design support to the OU Plant System Engineering Teams, typically comprising the preparation of civil, structural and architectural design packages for asset care, maintenance plus and break-down recovery tasks and in support of PMPs, along with design and engineering input in support of urgent plant breakdown issues.

The role requires a self-starting approach and the ability to develop fit for purpose architectural design solutions; coordinated with other disciplines and site wide stakeholders as required.


Production of design schemes and full solutions with all necessary architectural drawings , designer risk assessments, OIMSs, specifications, etc. in accordance with the applicable company and national practices, procedures and standards, as well as all applicable statutory regulations.

The provision of architectural design support to plant engineering, with activities and deliverables typically comprising (but not necessarily limited to): Production of technical specifications, basis of design documents, residual risk registers, CDM files and NFR’s; the processing of TQ’s, concessions relating to architectural modification or repair schemes.

There is a requirement to work in accordance with the PFDO Work Governance Process – the necessary familiarisation briefing and IT access will be provided to candidates who are not familiar with this process.



1) Previous design support experience for engineering

2) Experience in the production of CDM documents

Knowledge & Experience:

Experience in the production of full suite of architectural design drawings from concept to detail design under the direction of Lead Architect & Responsible Engineer.

Experience in the production of CDM documents; including CDM File, Residual Risk Assessments and Outline Installation Method Statements under the direction of Lead Architect & Responsible Engineer.

Competent Architectural Technologist, capable of producing scheme & detail designs under the direction of Lead Architect & ‘Responsible Engineer’; familiar with the roles and application of the CDM regulations 2015.

Familiarity and experience using AutoCad and Autodesk Revit.

Familiarity and experience using Total station- topographical survey equipment and Lazer scanner and software
