Our Government client is currently recruiting for x2 Accountants, on a 6 month remote working contract paying £365 P/D inside IR35.

Role: Accountants - (X1 Generalist and x1 Property)

Contract Length: 6 months

Location: remote

IR35: inside

Pay Rate to Candidate: £365 Umb

Minimum Requirement:

Developing a deep knowledge of diverse business areas, their needs and priorities, looking at the bigger picture to make sure that the business understands the financial implications of decisions and available choices.

• Acting in an intelligent customer role to actively work with the business to understand cost drivers and performance priorities and interpret financial implications of decisions

• Providing analysis to support decision making and using benchmarking to highlight opportunities and add value.

• Building, maintaining and influencing strong relationships with key stakeholders and budget holders, acting as the link with colleagues in the Centres of Expertise, ensuring that variances, forecasts and planning assumptions are reported and understood.

• Responsible for ensuring a strong partnership exists with key stakeholders to support organisational performance and delivery of plans.

• Identify and analyse areas of costs to the business on a regular basis, providing options to FBPs for review

• Identifying sustainable cost savings targets and initiatives as part of the business planning cycle, along with understanding and articulating the impact of reforms and their ultimate effect on the business.

• Supporting the financial analysis of business areas to prepare for Spending Reviews, risk management and business planning processes.

• Supporting on the construction of business cases through financial challenge and the identification of commercial implications of options considered.

• Ensuring that the leaders can make decisions based on accurate financial information, by bringing business intelligence and operational knowledge to budget setting, forecasting and financial reporting.

• Assessing accounting implications and providing accounting advice in accordance with international financial reporting standards and central government accounting rules.

• Building financial and commercial awareness of non-finance staff within the business.

• The post holder is required to work in a flexible way and undertake any other duties reasonably requested by line management which are commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post. This may also include working closely with other AFBPs to develop solutions/problem-solve, engaging in project work to drive finance reform improvements.
