Job description

My client is looking for a Environmental Services Site Lead for their operations in Dublin. The purpose of the role is to ensure that the Environmental Services function at a leading multi-national biopharmaceutical plant is maintained on an on-going basis in conformance all relevant legislation, licences and permits.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the site environmental services team and ensuring all tasks are carried out to ensure the smooth operation of the sites Wastewater Treatment Plant, Waste Management Areas, Storm Water System, Firewater Retention System Site Drainage System, Site Bunds and site environmental sampling and monitoring schedules etc.  

 

Some of the main responsibilities for this role include:  

- Complying with all relevant procedures and policies and reviewing and updating them when appropriate, in line with corporate document control.  

- Ensuring full compliance with the sites EPA licences (Incl. IEL and GMM consent)  

- Ensuring the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in accordance with the Discharge License  

- Operation of the Waste Management System in accordance with the relevant regulations  

- Ensuring EMS objectives and targets relevant to the environmental services area are implemented in a prompt and effective manner  

- Maintaining the Environmental Monitoring Programme  

- Compiling reports on site Environmental KPIs  

- Compiling reports for site EHS department in relation to Corporate Environmental data  

- Issuing/Approving work permits for works to be carried out in the area  

- Identifying potential areas for environmental improvement projects and initiatives  

Requirements

- Excellent communicator skills in writing, presentations and interpersonal communication  

- Developed teamwork skills  

- Waste Water Treatment – operation, maintenance, sampling and analysis, trouble shooting  

- Waste Management and recycling – Best practice for handling, storage, transport, treatment, records etc.  

- Ability to manage a team to deliver a number of projects and prioritize tasks. Previous experience in managing a team of people will be advantageous.  

- Environmental Monitoring and Supervision of Monitoring  

- Fully proficient in Microsoft office  

- Commitment to continuous learning  

- Extensive knowledge of Environmental Legislation, Industry Guidance and Codes of Practice  

- Good attention to detail  

- Practical: Client and solution focused  

- Understanding of Environmental Management Systems – ISO 14001:2015  

- Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) experience is desirable  

 

Knowledge and Experience:  

- The Candidate should have a degree in Environmental Science or Engineering (or other relevant science/ engineering degree) and should have at least 5 years’ experience, ideally in in an EPA licenced industry with extensive knowledge of waste water treatment plant operations.  

- Waste Water Treatment – operation, maintenance, sampling and analysis, trouble shooting  

- Waste Management and recycling – Best practice for handling, storage, transport, treatment, records etc.  

- Environmental Management Systems – ISO 14001:2015  

- Environmental Monitoring and Supervision of Monitoring
