Consultant / Senior Consultant – Socio-economics

Our client is one of the UK’s leading independent environmental consultancies, specialising in environmental assessments, planning, policy advice and sustainability. They are currently seeking a Consultant / Senior Consultant – Socio-economics located in London.  

Job Description:  

Our client is looking for a socio-economic consultant with impact assessment experience, to play a role in delivering their socio-economic assessment portfolio.  

You will be responsible for undertaking and leading socioeconomic assessments including in transport and urban development, working in a multi-disciplinary environment alongside other environmental and planning specialists. You will have a strong interest in social and economic development and be ready to help the company expand their social and economic consultancy offer.  

Ideally our client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated consultant who will be part of their planning and communities team. The successful candidate will:  

• Have a social science or research background, with strong experience in impact assessment and socio-economic impact as a specialism  

• Be able to work on your own initiative  

• Have demonstrable bid preparation and business development experience, with skills in supporting their senior team in developing new business  

• Be a member of an appropriate institute such as the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) and / or the Institute of Economic Development  

Other desirable skills and knowledge include social value/social return on investment, health impact assessment and policy assessment (e.g. integrated impact assessment)
