Job description

Our client is one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies. They have a requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team on a permanent basis and to help support their increasing portfolio and workload. You will be based in their integrated Gloucester office with the Client, but also expected to spend time at their construction sites throughout Gloucestershire and with occasional visits to other locations regionally to ensure you can deliver value for their clients.  

You will be working on some of the key highway infrastructure projects within Gloucestershire as part of their Gloucestershire Highways Commission and will be expected to play an active and senior part in overseeing the financial governance of these projects, as well as providing scheme estimates for evolving designs and pre-construction forward cost planning.  

 

Key responsibilities :  

- Leading on the commercial delivery of highway engineering projects, including multi-project NEC4 Contract Administration roles.  

- Cost and activity schedule development throughout the whole project lifecycle, including feasibility, pre-tender, tender submissions, and various commercial reporting.  

- Project funding support for central Government and other funding bodies.  

- Commercial Systems/Governance Improvements.  

- Support the development of more junior staff through technical training, on the job coaching and mentoring.

Requirements

- BEng, MEng, or MSc Degree in Civil Engineering Quantity Surveying or equivalent.  

- Professional recognition through institutions such as RICS, CIOB or CICES.  

- Excellent experience of working with a range of clients, including Local Authorities, National Highways, Developers and/or major Contractors.  

- Excellent contract and commercial management experience, particularly related to NEC.
