An overview of typical responsibilities includes:

- Assisting the Tunneling team with strategic bids.

- Developing your own network of business contacts to contribute to the growth of the Tunneling disciplines.

- Integrating the team to their technical discipline and market leads.

- Mentoring of early career team members.

Requirements

Candidates should have the right flare and ability that will help them develop and expand their tunnelling capability. They want to build on the existing portfolio of their rapidly expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.

They are looking for enthusiastic chartered/senior engineers with a proven technical and project management track record.

Candidates should have:

- A strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent).

- Chartered status in civil or structural engineering (is a requirement).

- Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to develop and lead tunnelling design teams.

- Project management – experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, work planning and commercial management.

- Proven tunnelling design experience in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.

- Proven experience using advanced constitutive soil models and experience of numerical modelling software (FLAC or PLAXIS). Use in relation to dynamic soil-structure interaction problems would be a benefit.

- Proven experience using advanced structural analysis and experience of numerical modelling software (Robot or STAAD). Use in relation to BIM-integrated workflows to exchange data with Revit would be a benefit.

- Application of CDM Regulations.

- Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.

- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.

- A willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas.
