Job description

Our client is one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, project management and building services consultancies. They are currently looking for Mechanical Specialists of Graduate, Intermediate and Engineer grades to take on roles seconded to a major project team based on site in Plymouth. The roles will involve supporting lead engineers in the delivery of one or more technical design packages.  

The role might initially be home based but it is expected to be predominantly site based across a wide range of projects relating to buildings and infrastructure in Plymouth.  

 

The responsibilities will vary, depending on the level of role, but some of them might include:  

- Supporting lead engineering resource in the delivery of one or more technical design packages.  

- Being responsible for completion of specifically assigned tasks to time and cost.  

- Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.  

- Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems - heating, cooling, ventilation, controls, etc.  

- Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, IES, Hevacomp, in-house developed tools, etc.  

- Site surveys, inspections and monitoring site works.  

- Report and technical note writing.

Requirements

- Appropriate qualification in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and Chartered, or working towards Chartership with a relevant institution.  

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.  

- An effective and reliable team member.  

- Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work.
