Our client is one of the world’s leading multi-disciplinary consultancies. Their Infrastructure team is currently looking for a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer to join them on permanent basis and help support their Cities and Development, Aviation, Energy and Defence clients around the UK and overseas in a range of exciting and unique design and construction projects.  

 

Our client provides multidisciplinary design, engineering services and integrated solutions across a wide range of sectors on local, national, and international projects. They are working across diverse variety of sectors, including Education, Commercial, Residential, Aviation, Defence, Energy and Civil Infrastructure.  

 

Our client's Infrastructure business provides multidisciplinary engineering services and integrated solutions across a wide range of building and infrastructure projects, leading the way in innovation, design transformation and digital engineering. This position will be a part of their national Building Design Practice in a growing Civil Engineering team, with all the opportunities for collaboration that this brings, but with a specific focus on Civil engineering within the Cities and Development market.  

 

The role will be non-location specific with the opportunity to work remotely or within any of the client's UK offices.  

 

You will be a Chartered Civil Engineer with a proven track record of successful delivery of design projects from concept to completion. Credibility, competence and technical excellence are a given as the role requires close working with internal and external clients, industry stakeholders and other consultants to develop robust design solutions through collaborative and proactive management of client demands.  

 

Requirements:  

Excellent communication and presentation skills that can support our client relationships.  

Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-discipline team.  

Ability to lead a design team and supervise, and support more junior staff.  

Be a technically excellent engineer, with established skills and delivery capability.  

The ability to translate this broad range of technical skills into imaginative ideas which enhance the quality of the designs.  

Proven experience on developing projects from concept to construction stage.  

The ability to develop scopes of work and delivery programmes.  

Experience of working with, and managing, small, focused project teams.  

Experience in site survey’s, inspection of works carried out on site and monitor quality and compliance with design drawings.  

 

You will:  

Assist in preparing bids and generally enhancing the work winning capability.  

Contributing to the delivery of small to medium infrastructure projects as part of a technically focussed design.  

Production of designs for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes.  

Be the first point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties.  

Producing civil specifications.  

Ensuring the provision of efficient and high-quality engineering services, to a high level of quality assurance.  

Comply with Quality and Technical Assurance Procedures.  

Be aware of and work in compliance with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work and the project BIM Execution plan.

Have a self-motivating, reliable and consistent approach to work.  

Be practically minded with a problem-solving nature.  

Be able to work independently and in teams.  

Have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.  

Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements

Experience working as a Civil Engineer ideally in the Buildings sector:  

 

Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or HND or equivalent experience.  

Chartered Civil Engineer (MICE).  

Experience in the design and analysis of drainage, utilities, paved and unpaved surfaces, earthworks, access and accessibility and construction logistics.  

Experience with current UK design standards and working practices.  

Ability to use AutoCAD, Civils’ 3D.  

 

Desirable:  

Revit BIM 360 experience  

Ability to achieve SC clearance  

Driving Licence
